Broken Pieces Exposed In The Light

"From only a few feet away, my attacker fired her large caliber handgun directly at me. Round after round struck my body as I began praying even more fervently than I already had been. She had broken into my home and laid in wait for Glenn and me to return home from a family outing. She had already delivered two rounds into Glenn downstairs before rushing upstairs to kill me. But as I prayed, God's strength welled-up inside me and I walked away from her as she yelled at me to stop. I grabbed the phone and called 911. Turning to see where she was, I saw her look in my direction...but not at me. She saw something behind me. The look on her face suggested she saw a manifestation of a mighty angel that God had sent to protect me. She retreated from the room and returned downstairs to kill Glenn with one final shot before ending her own life. I was safe, but my battle was just beginning.

As the wife of a 32-year Alaska State Trooper, and the mother of four children, I had always served our household in a support role during Glenn's long and illustrious career. But his position and frequent travels exposed this small-town boy to temptations greater than he could resist. Soon infidelity plagued our relationship for many years, culminating in that fateful August morning.

This survival story is not a testament to anything other than God's goodness and faithfulness. Through my own suffering God can speak to others who have experienced physical or psychological trauma. I pray that this story brings you comfort and draws you closer to our Father, who loves you and has plans to prosper your soul.

From Rage to Redemption

THE JOURNEY ON THE ROAD TO FORGIVENESS IS NOT ALWAYS EASY, BUT THE POWER OF FREEDOM ATTAINED FROM THE CAPTIVITY OF YOUR PAST MAKES THE TRAVELING PRICELESS.

John Moody’s incredible story begins in the 1860s, shortly after the Civil War ends. His great grandparents farm cotton on Mississippi land that they received under the “40 Acres and a Mule” land grant program.

Two generations later, John, his parents, and his nine brothers and sisters labor as sharecroppers in these same cottonfields. In the 1970s, at their hometown of Dundee, “Whites Only” signs are still tacked to bathroom doors.

Activists known as Freedom Riders awaken John to a promised land of opportunities in the “mythical” North, and he leaves cottonfields and his family behind. In Michigan, John excels as a college athlete destined for basketball greatness—until a cousin introduces him to an exotic new street drug. John plunges into a brutal underworld where dealing crack cocaine transforms ambitious young men into millionaires—and addicts.

During “seven years of hell,” John falls victim to his own exploitation. In a jail cell, he throws off the shackles of rage and embraces life-changing redemption.

Meet John Moody: educator, coach, guidance counselor, family man—and steward of God’s forgiveness and mercy.

Night Dive to Heaven

Ian McCormack was a New Zealand surfer traveling the world searching for something more. He found it night diving on the remote island of Mauritius when stung by 5 box jellyfish. He made it to the hospital but then died. He came back to life more than 15 minutes later and told about a dramatic encounter with both Hell and Heaven and an encounter with God that transformed his life forever. Over 75 million people around the world have heard Ian's testimony and now the full story is being told in this book.

Furrow in the Clouds

“I watched in horror: Holes ate away the cowling’s skin, the size of a boot, the size of a prize sow, and finally one massive iron shard as big as a barn door drifted into my trajectory. I had enough time to wonder where it would make contact; it turned on edge and sheared off four feet of my left wing.”
At 21 years old, American fighter pilot Tom Easterling has spread napalm and strafed Nazi bunkers for General Patton, dive-bombed enemy positions while approaching the speed of sound — and now must leap from his burning P-47 fighter-bomber into the heart of Nazi Germany.
On the ground, dragged by his parachute, he streaks a snowy field with blood, unable to hide due to his two shattered legs. Suddenly he is the “invader” within reach of frenzied German civilians who vent their hatred, beating him until SS troops drive them off with bayonets …
Easterling’s heart wrenching, sometimes humorous story is a tribute to the man whose family heritage and military training shaped him for surviving unimaginable physical and psychological suffering as a prisoner of war. His exciting account illuminates the motives of most World War II veterans who flew or marched off to war.
And above it all, First Lieutenant Lewis T. Easterling, USAF (Retired) leaves a courageous “furrow in the clouds” for us to follow in overcoming our own traumas and tragedies — common enemies of every man or woman.

Solo Rising

I'm losing my mind, but no one can know... Slowly, painfully, a vision beckoned me to the kitchen, where I stood before the sink. I opened the silverware drawer and reached my hand inside, feeling the cool wooden handle of a butcher knife... I stood serenely, the thin blade poised inches from my heart... How does a young woman, on death watch in a Missouri mental ward, overcome decades of mind-crippling fear? Katherine Cooper reveals her odyssey through paralyzing depression to a fulfilling life as a high-ranking Air Force noncommissioned officer, educator, professional flutist and woman of faith. With her inspiring story, Kathy illuminates God's path to deliverance and peace for anyone suffering emotional traumas, especially women and men who choose to fly solo in life.

Rangers in the Gap: Act with Courage; Never Surrender

Where would you hide if soldiers burned your home and pursued your family? In the jungles of Burma (Myanmar), throngs of ethnic people hide in nomadic communities to elude government-trained terrorists. Burma Army soldiers call these families the resistance. And what do they resist? Torture and rape. Theft of land and farms. They resist working like pack animals and starving in relocation camps. For more than 60 years, rag-tag resistance groups have withstood the powerful Burma Army while nations and commercial interests watched. Today the world is waiting for democracy to douse the flames of ethnic hatred in Burma. BUT NOT THE FREE BURMA RANGERS. Since 1997, the Free Burma Rangers have launched hundreds of relief missions, because internally displaced people (IDPs) are starving. IDPs die from dysentery, fevers and untreated landmine wounds. At plundered villages and jungle hide sites, ethnics feel stripped of dignity and hope. Free Burma Rangers cross raging rivers and scale mountains to help these IDPs. No mission is complete until every human rights violation or act of courage is documented and recorded for broadcast worldwide. What possesses a Free Burma Ranger to strap on a heavy rucksack full of food and medical supplies? Why do Rangers dodge battalions of Burma Army terrorists to deliver help, hope and love to people they don t even know? In this book, seven Free Burma Rangers reveal the reasons they champion families ravaged by artillery, flame, torture and death. Share in the Rangers daring odysseys, and savor their sense of fulfillment. Their stories may challenge what you believe is your own destiny.
