Q&A

How will you conduct our first meeting?

I will connect by telephone or email to discuss your story. I will explain writing protocols and answer your questions.

How do we collaborate to write my story?
I contact you by phone at agreed-upon times (considering time zones). Phone interviews are conducted in one-to-three-hour sessions. Interviews are recorded, notated and transcribed for my use in writing your story.

How do I pay you for your services?
Monthly payments are made through PayPal or direct deposit. Payments must be kept up-to-date for me to continue writing for you. Deliverables are scheduled according to time involved in producing a manuscript. I write on a Work for Hire basis unless otherwise stated in agreement.

Will we make a written agreement stating our responsibilities to one another?
In many cases Yes. The agreement is very straightforward and helps us recall our original discussions and arrangements. The agreement also outlines protocols, such as changing names to protect identities and payment schedule, etc.

What services am I paying for?
Consulting, scheduling, interviewing, transcribing, timelines, research, outlining, writing, and semi-proofing.

Do I retain the copyright to my story?
Yes. Unless other arrangements have been made in writing.

I want you to write my book (or short story). What do I do first?
Get started here. This Life Chart answers basic questions about you and your story. I will respond by email within three business days.

Can I terminate our agreement to end your work on my story?

Yes. Client or myself may terminate the project as per guidelines in our agreement.
